STREET REHABILITATION IN TERRAMAR DISTRICT

In 2020 the Municipal Government approved a plan to refurbish the district and, in consequence, included in the current budget an item amounting to an initial 1,105,000 euros adjudicated to address the area encompassing c. Juan de la Cierva, c. Pintor Ramón Casas and Av. Navarra. 

The APT board have had some meetings with the Lady Mayor, the Councillor and technicians assigned to the Area of Urban Services and Mobility with a view to:

• Having the Association’s proposals for this area taken into account;
• Ensuring the drawing up of a project for the entire Terramar district that would establish:

1. The landscaping and technical criteria to be applied in the subsequent phases of the rehabilitation of the neighbourhood;
2. An approximate calendar for implementation; and
3. A budget.

The APT commissioned the Environmental Association “Biodiversitat Sitges” to:

• Undertake a study of the current state of the trees; and
• Formulate a proposal for tree replacement to present to the City Council, contemplating the election of the most appropriate species on the basis of technical criteria -from both an environmental point of view and that of street impact-;

in order to rectify, where appropriate, the tree cover contemplated in the municipal rehabilitation project.
